Well, it was just the next step in independance.  We have purchased a small seed oil expeller press and after this years harvest at a couple generous local wineries we will be gathering up about 15 tons of pomace ( the left over seeds and skins after pressing grapes for wine ), and will begin cleaning and pressing grape seeds.  We haven't completely decided on what of the many uses for this oil we are going to settle on but one thing is for sure...It definitely won't go to waste.

If the state of California doesn't throw a billion rules and regulations on us about bottling and selling the oil for a food source ( like olive oil ) then we are strongly considering this option.  If they give us a laundry list of what we need to do to make this happen then we probably won't go this route.  If we decide not to bottle it for the locals then we will either make soap with it, biodiesel, or just run it as SVO.  ( straight vegetable oil ).
