Solar Powered Grow Lights
Solar power to offset the cost of indoor plant lighting....

Is it possible....you bet!  We get this question pretty often and yes it can absolutely be done.  The biggest limiting factor is usually the budget.  For most folks, they're looking to keep gardening well into the winter months and keep busy with their veggies or other crops. Whatever the plant and whether you're using HPS, metal halide, LED or compact fluorescent, it's all do able.

Grid-tie systems are the most economical for homes and businesses that have regular city power available.  For those of you out there in remote areas with no power lines, it's still possible to do a battery based off-grid system but the costs are typically much higher.

If you're interested in one of these systems just drop us an e-mail on what kind of light you're using ( wattage ), whether you're using a digital or magnetic ballast, and what your lighting schedule is.  We don't need your actual address but if you can include what state youre in and which part ( N, S, E, or W ) ,  it will help us out a lot in determining the necessary size system.

Just as an example, we recently did a quote for a fellow in Southern California that wanted to keep 2 x 600 watt digitals on for 12 hours per day.  With a necessary solar array of about 4 kW, after all the rebates, incentives and tax credits he was looking at an installed price of about $15,000.  These numbers are all approximate and vary a few thousand dollars up and down with the city and power provider but gives you a good idea of what kind of costs are involved.

We work with a licensed solar contractor to install these systems and can have a system installed for you anywhere in California or Colorado.

We look forward to hearing form you....
